  • CPU power to spare. Blazing fast RAID storage on a svelte notebook. Good connectivity options including Thunderbolt. Lightweight frame
  • Build quality could be better at this price point. Terrible screen quality
  • First, I have to address the storage system in the S5. A single 256GB solid state drive would have been just fine with me but Acer went above and beyond with a RAID0 system consisting of two 128GB Lite-On SSDs. Sure, two storage drives increases risk,...

  • Its premium carbon-fiber construction and semi-rugged design hold up well to the rigors of travel
  • The ultrabook has a low-resolution display with mediocre brightness
  • The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 3 is a solid business ultrabook, but maybe not the best fit for retail shoppers. The semi-rugged carbon-fiber design holds up well for road-warriors, but some may balk at the lack of basic ports and the muddied display.Le...

  • Abstract:  If you just want to read about new Kepler GPU right now click here ! Design, portability, low weight and good battery autonomy are the selling points of the new ultrabook category. Yet different users have different needs, and due to the manufacturers...

  • The Ultrabook world is continuing its rise to glory as the Acer Aspire S3 (here with the Core i7 processer inside) runs the thin show at .68 inches at its thickest point. This is by no means the thinnest notebook on earth, nor is it the Ultrabook with ...

  • Abstract:  You’d have to actively be avoiding the tech media over the past several months not to have heard about Ultrabooks. Their coming has garnered a boatload of buzz, fueled in no small part by Intel’s $300 million fund to get hardware and software makers ...

  • The Acer Aspire S3 looks very nice in the product photos, and it is often associated with Ultrabooks because this type of design, which is inspired from the Macbook Air, has been used by many PC manufacturers in their recent designs. I like the new look v...

  • Pre-installed software is abundant, in-your-face, Body is cartoonish and feels cheap, No USB 3.0, Ugly, Speaker is terrible, "Professionally tuned" stamp? Really

  • Abstract:  When Intel initially put out the idea of the ultrabook as a new type of laptop, I admit harboring plenty of skepticism—isn’t the ultrabook just a gussied up rebranding of an ultraportable? Unfortunately, being a skeptic/cynic has served me well ove...
