  • Abstract:  If you've been following along with our Z390 previews so far then you'll be aware of what they have to offer when compared to their Z370 forebears. If you haven't, then the primary changes are support for the 9th Generation of Intel CPUs, slightly faste...

  • Abstract:  October 8th was the release date for some embargos for the new Z390 chipset. And with this date coming and going we saw the major board partners show off most/all of their new lineups. With this brings new naming conventions, new looks, and new features on the motherboards...

  • Debug/Diagnostic LEDs, Ample RGB lighting options (12v/5v/onboard), USB 3.1 and Type-C, Dual M.2 with M.2 cooling, Integrated I/O shield, Large VRM heatsinks, Good quality VRM components, High-quality audio, Neutral styling
  • AURA RGB software compatibility issues (again), M.2 cooling runs on the warm-side, “only” 3 phase VCore VRM (albeit with 6 phases worth of components), Enhanced turbo is now “on by default”, with no warnings, Awkward to access front panel headers
  • It's hard to find anything significant to say about the ASUS ROG Strix Z390-I Gaming, which is mostly a good thing. The design is well-thought out and it is a sensible motherboard choice for anyone looking to build around the mini-ITX platform using Intel...

  • Excellent performance, Fantastic audio results, Packed full of features
  • Rivals are cheaper, Overclocking drains power
  • The motherboard to buy if you want the very best, but it comes at a cost...

  • While it's no Maximus Impact, the ROG Strix Z390-I Gaming with its integrated I/O shield, massive VRM heatsink and well-equipped pair of M.2 ports is probably the most lavish mini-ITX board we've seen from Asus since the former's demise a few years ago. S...

  • Solid performance, RGB restrained and elegant, Good overclocking potential, Lovely I/O shield
  • Weird location for front panel, BIOS overclocks CPU by default
  • Increasing chipset integration and moving away from multi-GPU usage brings smaller motherboards into focus.Asus has historically had solid support in this area, particularly mini-ITX, and carries on the good work with the Z390-I Gaming. All the goo...

  • Abstract:  Mini-ITX motherboards are often crowd-pleasers. Indeed, there are few motherboards we get more excited to whack on the test bench than these dinky mini-ITX numbers. The Asus ROG Strix Z390-I Gaming is no different. There's something about a miniscule moth...

  • The ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-I GAMING motherboard performs very well for its size. The motherboard's AI overclocking capabilities captured our attentionas we didn't know that overclocking a system can be that easy. Moreoverrather than just making sure that the...
