  • Abstract:  Getting a portable speaker to fill a room without being huge is, even with all the options out there today, still a pretty tall order. You have to spend a fortune or make some big sacrifices. I have a pretty solid 5.1 setup for my TV, a substantial 2.1 op...

  • Competent and clean sounding speaker that, once portable with the GO Pack addition, sounds far better sound than a typical Bluetooth speaker,
  • Needs the right placement to sound its best; portable, but not built to be thrown around; think around the house v. at the park,
  • If you are looking to bridge the gap between small, highly portable Bluetooth speakers and less flexible, larger whole home speakers, the HEOS 1/GO Pack deserves a look...

  • Built-in Bluetooth, High-res audio support, Plenty of multiroom add-on options, Great sound quality, App delivers wide variety of services through Wi-Fi
  • No app love for Apple Music, Requires another $100 add-on to be truly wireless, Need the app to tap into AUX and USB music

  • Having tested a sizable sample, I can say that many entry-level wireless speakers deliver surprisingly potent sound-especially given their small footprint. There were differences among the models in this roundup, but overall I'd say that most manufacturer...

  • The Denon HEOS 1 has sound quality nearly on par with Sonos' Play1 speaker. The HEOS Go Pack lets the HEOS 1 go places that the Play 1 can't,
  • Weird connection method which requires a proprietary 3.5 mm cord to get the HEOS 1 on your WiFi network. The Go Pack is great, but it would be nice if the HEOS 1 had a built-in battery pack and Bluetooth, SUMMARY The HEOS 1 sounds great and is a nice addi
  • The Denon HEOS 1 is a good little wireless speaker. It's very close to the Play:1 in the sound department, but edges it out in portability thanks to the HEOS 1 Go Pack. The Go Pack lets the HEOS 1 go places the Play:1 can. The Sonos software is slightly b...

  • Abstract:  The HEOS 1 Wireless Speaker system is meant to fill your house with sound using a network of HEOS 1 speakers in each room. When you've got all of your speakers set up, you can fill your house with one type of music or let each of your rooms have its own s...

  • The Denon HEOS 1 offers a rugged build and decent audio quality in an affordable package. The HEOS app is easy to use and attractive-looking. The addition of the HEOS Go package for $99 offers a lot of flexibility including battery power, splashproofing a
  • The HEOS without the Go pack isn't as compelling. Setup of wireless requires a proprietary cable. The app can behave oddly and the number of services pales in comparison to Sonos. For audiophiles there's no high-res support
  • The Denon HEOS 1 offers a rugged design and a great feature set to users who want the flexibility of both multiroom music and optional Bluetooth portability...

  • Sleek design, Easy to navigate app, Solid lows, Not too expensive
  • Not the most portable speaker, Battery life

  • Abstract:  HEOS was one of the first of the new wave of wireless multiroom systems, reassuringly backed by the audio heritage of Denon and the D&M stable, and developed in part here in Australia from the ‘Avega' system of wireless speakers going back almost a decade...
