The editors liked

The editors didn't like

  • Sharp, colorful display, Comfortable, Doesn't require a Samsung phone, Integrated GPS and heart rate monitor, Standalone music player with Bluetooth streaming capability
  • No iOS support, Few additional apps or watch faces available at launch, Narrow screen results in cramped, awkward layouts, Heart rate monitoring isn't continuous
  • With some solid improvements over its predecessor, the Samsung Gear Fit2 is a powerful fitness tracker and a fairly functional smartwatch...

  • Stylish and comfortable design, Accurate activity tracking, Built-in GPS and step tracking, Automatic workout logging
  • Android-only at the moment, Samsung's health apps aren't as robust as others
  • With the Gear Fit 2, Samsung has succeeded in making a capable and stylish fitness tracker. But it also doesn't do anything significantly better or differently than the competition. trycatch(e) Hardware The Gear Fit 2 is an evolution of the o...

  • At $179, the Samsung Gear Fit2 is priced competitively, but not aggressively. It features enough technology and functionality to compete effectively in the current market. The Microsoft Band 2 now retails for ~$179, and Fitbit Blaze goes for ~$200.We're g...

  • Sleek looking, very comfy, lovely curved AMOLED display, decent battery life
  • App selection is small right now. As with all optical heart rate monitors, it gets confused by certain activities
  • The Samsung Gear Fit 2 pleasantly surprised me: it's a good combination of smartwatch notification features and fitness tracker for the beginner to moderate exercise fanatic. The band's interface is intuitive and the Gear and S Health apps are easy to use...

  • At $249, Samsung has hit the perfect price point for the Gear Fit2. It's stocked full of tech, with GPS tracking really adding value to the original model's otherwise comprehensive set of sensors.Factor in the sleek design, and this fitness tracker has ev...

  • Small form factors, Good built in functions/widgets- water/exercise- some automated, Display bright and coloured- accelerometer/gyro to turn display on worked well, All notifications work for all apps
  • Not Android Wear, Unable to reply with individual replies to messages, Watch band not the most secure
  • Last year I thought that the Garmin Vivosmart HR was the best fitness band around. It seems that there is a challenger to this title, the Samsung Gear Fit 2. It is sturdy while not being overly large, has a vibrant, large coloured display with a multitude...

  • I mentioned earlier that the true measure of a fitness band was how well it interacted with the software. The hardware is defined by its sensors, but the software can be upgraded easily. On the hardware front, the Fit2 is — apart from the UV and galvan...

  • The lack of iOS support doesn't wreck the Samsung Gear Fit2, but it does severely limit the number of people who can use it. Fortunately that friend I was wrecking a bowl of chilli with also rocks an Android phone. She leaned over her meal and peered at t...
