  • The Gear Live has a clean metal body, more features for the price than the LG watch, works with many Android phones (4.3 or later), has impressive Google Voice recognition, and could have an interesting variety of apps sooner than later
  • Terrible battery life; a display that doesn't work in bright sunlight; a strange card-based notification system that doesn't always pop up with the info you want; annoying snap-on charger that's not easy to attach
  • Samsung's new smartwatch feels like its other Gears, but injected with Google's new Android Wear software. The makeover means better Google phone connectedness, but it's not a killer smartwatch....

  • Beautiful design, Excellent screen, Good fitness features
  • Software issues, Android Wear still imperfect, Strong competition
  • Every smartwatch I've tested I've removed from my wrist the instant I finished writing it up, and I've never looked back. The Gear Live will be the first time that I continue wearing it, and pretty enthusiastically. It's very exciting, and $250 is really...

  • Android Wear is a truly compelling wearable platform that engages both users and developers. Existing Android users will discover catharsis in performing notification triage, and learn to appreciate the simple voice- and touch-based actions developers hav...

  • I don't want to be hard on the Gear Live because it is a decent smartwatch at a reasonable price. It's well built and most comfortable, albeit I could live with a better watch strap. But, ultimately, I wouldn't buy the Gear Live, principally because I wou...

  • Comfortable, well-sized, excellent screen, works with most Android devices, built-in heart rate sensor
  • Battery lasts a day at best, not enough watch faces, app access can be awkward, voice-centric control, Android Wear not the vision it could (and hopefully will) be
  • Of all the current Android Wear smartwatches on the market the Samsung Gear Live has the best design of the bunch. We like the idea of the Moto 360's round face, but some design blips on its behalf see the Samsung take top spot in the design ranks f...

  • Looks fairly premium, Sharper screen than the G Watch, Waterproof, Compatible with all Androids (4.3 and above), Growing app selection
  • Charging cradle fail, Not quite as comfortable as the LG, One day battery life
  • Open Gallery With two devices on sale, it's not hard to be the best Android Wear smartwatch you can buy right now. But the Samsung just edges ahead of the LG G Watch nonetheless. Why? Mainly thanks to that sharper screen and bonus heart rate mo...

  • Super AMOLED pixel power, Extra health features, Sleek design, Early adopter geek points
  • Terrible battery life, Heart rate monitor not accurate, Slow charging, Only 13 official watch faces
  • Ultimately, if you're picking a winner between the first two Android Wear entrants, you have to side with Sammy's smartwatch. While not perfect, the Gear Live gives a much more rounded wearable experience, presented in a better chassis and via a superior...

  • We really can't believe we are saying this, but we are sold on the idea of Android Wear. The more time we spend using it, the more it becomes integrated into our digital lives. Just like the smartphone, the more apps it gets, the better it gets.Samsung's h...
