The editors liked

The editors didn't like

  • When you boil it down, the Galaxy S21 isn't all that different from the S20. It has the same size screen and the same camera, along with less RAM and a lower resolution. You're also giving up a microSD card slot.Michael Simon/IDGThe Galaxy S21 has a desig...

  • Lovely design, Big screen that takes up much of the front, Great specs, Supports 5G regardless of model or variation, Water resistant
  • Battery life is not good at all, Phone can get super hot, Camera can feel a little slow, Scene Optimiser camera can be far too saturated for our liking, Samsung has removed the microSD slot, a shame given it's been a part of most Samsung phone designs
  • The first of 2021's phones, the Samsung Galaxy S21 is a nice phone with some decent features, but it's not one that we've exactly fallen in love with.Samsung owners will be happy with what's on offer, delivering a Galaxy that is clearly strong, and feels...

  • Great display, Unique, fresh design, Decent battery life and performance
  • Unreliable camera software, One UI needs polish (and less ads), A bit pricey for what's on offer
  • "If you're a fan of Samsung devices and upgrading from an older phone, you'll likely enjoy a lot of what the S21 offers"...

  • Although the battery life could have been lengthier - especially considering the price point - the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G is still one of the best phones we've seen so far this year. The Exynos 2100 processor and 6.2in Dynamic AMOLED display make the phone...

  • Powerful performance,120Hz display,Impressive camera system,
  • Plastic design, No MicroSD card slot, Wall charger not included in the box,
  • Although not the most impressive phone from the S21 series, the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G will definitely appeal to the most people. This is a phone that combines a palatable price tag with higher-end specs like a 120Hz refresh rate and powerful CPU as well a...

  • Much more affordable, Still a great screen (and it's flat), Snappy performance,
  • Lack of microSD and WQHD+ resolution make it feel like an S20 downgrade, Doesn't feel as good as previous S series phones, Minimal camera upgrades,
  • There are sacrifices yes, but this is still a great phone for a more enticing price. It has a lovely screen, a reliable camera and a slick new design that feels a little bit futuristic. The basics are here and they're all done excellently.ProsMuch more af...

  • Fantastic, versatile camera, Cheaper than the Galaxy S21, Powerful and capable phone
  • No microSD support, Screen isn't the best, No charger in the box
  • The Galaxy S21 isn't the star of Samsung's S series in 2021, like we've been used to for most of the past decade, but it's a solid smartphone choice with an impressive camera, powerful internals and great battery life. If you want the best of the best, lo...
