The editors liked

The editors didn't like

  • True 6physicalcore processor, Turbo Core feature autooverclocks to 3.7GHz if 3 or fewer cores in use, Easily overclocks to 4GHz without requiring a highend motherboard, Excellent performance in media transcoding and professional rendering and modelling, Low 125 watt TDP, Works in older AM2 motherboards (with BIOS update),
  • Cheaper Thuban CPUs are just as fast with a little tweaking, Not as much cache as competitive Intel processors, Cannot support an NVIDIA SLI system with AMD chipset motherboard
  • Benchmark tests should always be taken with a grain of salt. It's difficult to try and isolate the performance difference a single component in a computer system makes, especially when it's necessary to compare across different manufacturers and platf...

  • The AMD Phenom II 1100T is a great addition to AMD’s lineup. It is solid enough to compare favorably to some of Intel’s 1156 CPUs that cost upwards of $60 more (like the i7 875K). Like all Phenoms, it does lack good memory performance and can become...

  • If you already own an AM2+/AM3 system and are looking for improved multi-threaded performance, buying an 1100T or any other Phenom II is a no-brainer decision. For $180 to 265, you can have a new six-core chip that can fairly easily hit about 4.0Ghz , ...

  • Abstract:  The CPU landscape is really complex. Both AMD and Intel offer tons of different models. But how would today’s processors perform if they didn't have multiple cores? We take 16 different CPUs and compare them all using a single core running at 3 GHz. Ev...

  • Lots of cores, not much cash, Excellent multi-threaded throughput
  • Mediocre gaming performance, No improvement in overclocking
  • The Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition gives you lots of cores for not much cash. The result is excellent multithreaded throughput with slightly ropey gaming performance...

  • Both, the Phenom 1100T Black Edition and the 1035T have a great value proposition. Who does not want to buy a processor with more cores and more speed, at a lower price? The only reason these processors don't steamroll Intel's counterparts, is that ma...

  • Yes, the AMD speed bumps are here again. In what has almost become a bi-monthly tradition, we're starting to take the company's increasing clock rates and seemingly-static price tags for granted.Unfortunately, we can only overclock our Phenom II X6 1100T...

  • Very impressive overclocking performance (some users reporting 4.4GHz - with sufficient cooling), Smooth windows and gaming performance, Great multithreaded performance, Cool running at both stock speeds and overclocks, Still pretty well priced consideri
  • Absolute performance can't compete with current Intel hex cores and is similar to Intel quads
  • The 1100T is a very impressive chip. It's fairly affordable, has a high stock clock speed, offers flexibility with that unlocked multiplier and consequently clocks well.Because of the multi I don't think I'd need to specifically recommend a decent mot...
