  • There’s no denying that the specs and the real-life performance of this machine are admirable. And even the lowest budget option of the three is still reasonable powerful considering the £899 price level. Both the design and the internals give every in...

  • Excellent 2D and 3D performance, and it looks stunning. If you want style as well as substance, the XPS 15z is almost perfect ...

  • Attractive aluminium shell, Slim design, Excellent performance
  • Build quality disappointing in places, Unimpressive battery life, Unattractive keyboard
  • The Dell XPS 15z offers great performance with an attractive, slim design. If you're after a MacBook Pro but can't quite get the cash, this laptop may be a good alternative....

  • The Dell XPS 15z is a 15.4-inch machine, finished in magnesium and aluminium. The chassis measures under an inch in depth, and it's thinner than lots of rival laptops. It's tactile and robust, although you'll find several different metals in place – rather than the MacBook Pro's uni-body design. That said, the XPS 15z really is a nice laptop to use and to look at. Surprisingly for a semi-portable
  • The fact the XPS 15z uses different types of metals creates a slightly unbalanced feel to the design, although there's no disputing the quality. We also found the 15z was slightly noisy in use, although never distractingly so.
  • Finished entirely in metal, the Dell XPS 15z has few proper rivals. The HP Envy 15 and Apple MacBook Pro both spring to mind, and the Dell undercuts both when it comes to specification. If you're in the market for a high quality PC, the XPS 15z is well...

  • Starting first with the build quality of the XPS 15z we have system which impresses from the moment we unbox it. The large, curved anodized aluminium sheets which make up the top and bottom of the system look and feel great while offering a sturdy fee...

  • Despite some niggling issues, we've come away modestly impressed with the XPS 15z. The notebook's design may not be original (far from it), but the end result is an elegant-looking machine that's thin, light and armed with plenty of power beneath the ...

  • Let's hope that the XPS 15z proves to be a turning point for Dell, signaling a new direction for Dell consumer product design and engineering in general, rather than a niche "high style" brand that will represent only a small fraction of the company's ...

  • All-metal, semi-unibody chassis, Streamlined, less than 1in thick, Excellent build quality and great feel, Optional 1080p screen, Powerful, well-rounded specification
  • No Blu-ray drive, Noisy under load, Not user upgradeable, Non-replaceable battery
  • The Dell XPS 15z is the MacBook Pro of the Windows world, with a streamlined aluminium and magnesium chassis, good 1,920 x 1,080 screen, backlit chiclet keyboard and plenty of power under the hood despite being less than an inch thick. Unfortunately it ge...
